Haryana's Cyber city Lacks Basic Furniture for its Students Who Are Forced to Fill Their Examination Papers Sitting on Floor

Gurgaon: Recently we had a new education policy which made computers and English compulsory subjects in our schools .

Fine. Seems we are really marching forward to the gleaming word of cyber world which is waiting to wrap us up in its all-encompassing arm.

But there seems to be a hitch.

Currently board examinations are going on in Haryana. In Gurgaon district alone, there are 88 examination centers. Sadly in many centers, there are just not enough chairs and benches for the students. So they are forced to fill their answer papers sitting on ground.

There are around one lakh students busy in their exams but only ten percent of them are able to enjoy the 'luxuries' of furniture in examination halls.

And this all is happening in Gurgaon - Haryana's most happening city which has big plans to become a leading InfoTech town.

Although computer education is the need of the hour, the new education policy has come with some dubious fallouts. So while computers have been sent to schools, there is not enough infrastructure to support it.

Cleary some thoughts need to be invested in this fallout also. Meanwhile stop talking about Gurgaon's possible IT stardom.
