| Shriram School is hosting a set of Basketball tournaments from the
14th to the 19th of August. On 3rd August, a Disaster Management Workshop was held at HIPA. Participating in it was the Haryana's Financial Commissioner (Revenue), LM Goel. He asked the Commissioner, LSM Salins to prepare a master plan for disaster preparedness. The DC, Apoorv Kumar Singh was also present on the occasion. HUDA organised a Plant exhibition in the Sector-14 nursery. It was inaugurated by the Commissioner. However, most visitors felt that the plants were rather high-priced!! Chiranjiv Bharti, Sushant Lok celebrated Environment Day on the 8th of August. On this occasion, NM Bhatia, Principal, Chiranjiv Bharti, Palam Vihar, Abhay Chawla, Gurgaonharyana.com and the teachers and students planted saplings in various places. Students also made paper bags along with their teachers and pledged not to use polybags. Gurgaonharyana.com conducted a series of lectures to reduce the use of plybags in our daily life in Our Lady Fatima School, Sector 14 during the week - 24th July to 29th July.

Lions
Club, Gurgaon organised a blood-donation camp on 10th August. The camp was held
in the main branch of Punjab National Bank. ADC Neerja Shekhar was the chief-guest. Shriram School is celebrating India Week from the 7th of August to the 15th. During this week, focussed information about INDIA is being given to students, with respect to culture, history, geography and other aspects. Haryana Institute of Public Administration just concluded a three-day training session on the use of E-mail operations. This programme, the purpose of which was to increase the familiarity with Internet was participated by several officers from Govt. departments, Boards and Corporations. HIPA (Haryana Institute of Public Administration) organised a workshop on Community Based Disaster Management from 14-16th June. The director of the course was Dr Abhay Kumar Srivastava. |

is conducting a series of lectures on the harmful effects of polybags in Sherwood
Convent and DAV Public School. Students will be told about why and how polybags can be harmful and they will also be given alternatives. Gurgaonharyana.com and Sushant Lok Residents' Welfare Association along with Residents Awareness Club, Sushant Lok, concluded an Environmental Month in Sushant Lok, with a Cultural evening on 24th June. During this campaign, the women in the colony studied alternatives to polybags and endeavoured to minimise their use. The month-long campaign, also included an Essay Writing Competition and Painting Competitions.
On this first week of May, DLF Golf and Country Club organized a midnight golf followed by a 'tee' party. The gathering was a good show of Delhi's who's who starting with the Pataudi couple to Gujrals to Vadras sans Priyanka who's reportedly pregnant. The event was hosted by DLF Universal Chairman KP Singh and his daughter Priya. DLF club is the first floodlit Golf Club in India and one of the very few in the world. |

inauguration of the newly-published Collection of Poetry - "Bhor Ki Kiran"
on 2nd July, 2000 at Bal Bhawan, Sector-4, Gurgaon. The Chief Guest was Gopichand Gehlot, Deputy Speaker, Haryana Assembly and Ms. Shiksha Devi. The main speakers on the occasion were Dr. Ganga Prasad Vimal, Chairman, Nagri Lipi Parishad and Dr. Leeladhar Viyogi, critic and writer.
